sugar & spice & all things nice ....

http://www.sugarpillshop.com/

Good evening all my lil darklings. Tonight im pointedly avoiding my studies by doing everything with in my power to procrastinate. This includes baking walnut and dark chocolate bite sized cookies, playing with my cats, finishing off all the books i have on the go & last but not least... bring to you a new post on magical magical me (haha sorry j.k Rowling.)!!!
Although i had a magical week, im not talking so much about magical me, more about magical makeup.
Saturday night was the latest dark symphonica gig. So, going out with my friends was a must. I am so bored with cosmetics at the moment. Although i love Illamasqua, i don't love the price. My one cosmetic saving grace, the diamond in the rough is SUGARPILL COSMETICS ! Bright vivid hues, opalescent & metallic, their colours are startling & eye catching. For around $13 aussie you can pick up one of their loose eye shadows and create some inspiring make up designs. My belief is to be loud and proud, and yes sometimes i cringe at old photos of the loud/proud me, but i think I'm starting to get it right. I recommend purchasing sugarpill from http://www.beserkclothing.com/sugarpill-cosmetics-c-205.html. Not only do they stock most of the range, its also a local store, which in turn helps support not only Australia's alternate scene, but Brisbane based alternate fashion. Beserk clothing can have it's own article in the not too distant future, but for now lets leave it at 'beserk rocks, buy fleur's gear', trust me the prices are fair and her range is getting rather extensive.
But, getting back to me and my make up.
This look was created rather easily, coz i have had too much practice at wearing too much make up. But if you like dark eye make up and are getting sick of wearing black and grey everyday, then splashing on some lighter colours might bring the edge back to your spooky ensemble. Here i used a lighter purple as a base, so light its almost grey, but you can use anything as a base for the eyelid (pale blue, grey, white, peach... these all work) then with a shaped brush i added loads of sugerpill's poison plum pressed eye shadow. Then after lashings of black eye shadow, Illamasqua liquid eyeliner and mascara, i finished off with the opalescent white lumi loose eye shadow, then brilliant ol' me added some miss x adhesive to it, and making it into a liquid
eye shadow/eyeliner concoction. I wont go into the nitty/gritty of how to perfectly apply eye shadow, all i recommend is using a large flat brush to begin with and then a finer, angled shaping brush to make it more symmetrical, defined and sharp. The rest is up to you, how dark and bold you go, how BIIIIG you make it, whether u do cats eye's like i cant help but do ...

The eye shadows of sugarpill are your palette and your face is  the canvas so get cracking, no more excuses and wear your war paint voraciously!
